Auto manufacturer Bentley has been unrelentingly releasing luxury cars. The newest utilizes technology that is cutting-edge and engineering experience in manufacturing. Luxury cars were never the same after the birth of this iconic Continental GT. In 2002, Bentley commissioned Breitling to design the onboard clock for its Continental GT. A year later, the Continental GT surfaced with the combination of expertise between the manufacturers.
Breitling looked back to their aviation chronograph found in 1931 for its layout. The brand’s expertise in chronographs and tracking made the collaboration steady. Furthermore, Willing Breitling, grandson of all Léon Breitling, was a dedicated Bentley enthusiast.
Subsequently, the manufacturers extended their partnership at the 24 Hours at Le Mans race. Bentley was sponsored by breitling and was behind the brand through its triumph. For this reason, the chronograph was crafted by Breitling.
About 15 years since their initial collaboration, Bentley and Breitling renewed their partnership. In the alliance, Breitling declared a new chapter in 2018.
“Bentley and Breitling share so many values,” Breitling CEO Georges Kern commented. Both brands recognise each other’s dedication to quality, performance, and design excellence. They’ve decided to leverage this continue a heritage and to build on. “It’s an perfect partnership,” Kern added. “And, after over 15 decades, it’s a fun to add yet another chapter into it.” Bentley Motors Chairman Adrian Hallmark was a Board Member for Sales and Marketing in 2002. When the partnership flourished on the race track, he was there. This cooperation as an example of credibility in the craft.
On its core solutions, Breitling incorporated Bentley variations that were special with the partnership. This unified the firms’ relationship. Breitling has generated timepieces for Bentley, and the Breitling Bentley was created.
Eat dust and take to the waves. The limited edition unveiled during Wheels and Waves by Breitling is the link between land and sea.
Wheels and Waves, in Biarritz, France, is a unique festival in more ways than one. Highlights include: music concerts, art exhibitions, skating performances, motorcycle races and surfing competitions. For the 8th edition, which was held in the seaside resort on June 13, Breitling, the official timekeeper of the event, presented a limited edition, the Premier B01 Chronograph Wheels and Waves. On a pared-down anthracite dial, the hour and minute hands coated with Super-LumiNova® point to the index markers encircled by a tachymeter scale. This stylish and sporty composition is accentuated by two black counters and the red central second hand. This spacious composition ensures optimal readability of the time information.
Two versions are available. 500 numbered and engraved pieces are produced in steel. The second precious version in red gold is limited to 100 pieces. Both come with a brown nubuck strap fastened with a pin buckle. As with all the brand’s watches, the precision and performance of this chronograph are certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC).
Protecting the oceans also means exploring them. Breitling is offering new, simple, and robust editions to accompany you in all your underwater adventures.
Depending on your needs, each edition has a specific water resistance. The Superocean 36 can withstand depths of up to 200 m, the 48 can go to 300 m, and the 42 reaches as far as 500 m below sea level. While the Superocean 44 and 46 can accompany extreme explorers with a water resistance of up to 1,000 and 2,000 m respectively. A Diver Pro II strap makes the watches comfortable to wear over a diving suit. Which one will you choose?
The wings on its logo have flown away and the brand has begun its identity change. The first models in the Premier collection are showing the way with a focus on style and a top-of-the-range mechanism.
Among the five models in the brand-new Premier collection, released by Breitling before the year’s end, the Premier B01 Chronograph 42 model and its various versions immediately attract attention. They are easy to wear with their classic look and have a whole host of assets. But judge for yourself!
Inside the 42mm-wide steel case is the Calibre 01. This self-winding in-house movement combines top performance and accuracy. The chronograph is certified as a chronometer by the COSC and generates a healthy power reserve of 70 hours. Through the sapphire crystal, the rotor and a handful of components are on display.
With the Navitimer 8 collection, Breitling takes a new aesthetic turn, while preserving some of the design features of its previous creations. We take a closer look at the model B01.
In 1938, Breitling inaugurated the Huit Aviation department. What lay behind the name? Most of the instruments provided for civilian and military purposes had eight (“huit” in French) days of power reserve. The brand recalls this figure in the name of its new collection, the Navitimer 8. While none of the models has so much autonomy, the B01 model still stands out with a calibre that will drive its functions for 70 hours. To achieve a performance like this, the self-winding movement is equipped with a bidirectional ball-bearing rotor. This cutting-edge mechanism with time-keeping precision certified by the COSC can also be used for split-time measurements. The column wheel movement controls the three chronograph functions: start, stop and reset. These operations are carried out in the traditional way using pushbuttons.
Two versions of the Navitimer 8 B01 are available. The first has a sports look and combines a 43mm-wide steel case with a black or blue dial. The second is more refined and blends red gold and bronze. All the time information is easy to read with the large hands and over-sized figures in the purest tradition of the pilot’s watch. Split time is easily measured using the central second hand and two cream-coloured totalisers set at 3 and 6 o’clock. A running second and date counter round off the composition.
This flagship model from the range is worn with a leather strap featuring a tang buckle or a steel strap with a folding clasp.
The brand has brought out a limited Super Avenger series with a self-winding movement. The exclusive watch is only available in Breitling boutiques!
This is the first time that Breitling has fitted its Super Avenger 01 chronograph with a self-winding in-house B01 calibre that gives it a comfortable power reserve of over 70 hours. The pairing is a real limited edition with just 100 watches available in the brand’s 60 boutiques! Like all the brand’s products, the Super Avenger 01 Boutique Edition is certified by the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (COSC).
The timepiece stands out for its impressive 48mm steel case that’s water resistant to depths of 300m. It oozes a real sense of power from its unidirectional rotating bezel with a ratchet effect, its screwdown crown, its build and its looks. The pitch black dial bears a tricompax layout of small seconds, chronograph 30 minute and 12 hour counters. The hands loaded with luminescent material track large markers so you can tell the time in any condition. Flip the watch over and you’ll see a vintage pin-up engraving stating “Special Delivery.”
The Super Avenger 01 Boutique Edition comes with a range of straps. You can get your strap in leather, rubber in a Diver Pro or Ocean Racer model, Military fabric or steel.
The new limited edition watch from the Breitling for Bentley collection is an invitation on a journey in time combining luxury, peace and delight.
To celebrate the release of the new Bentley Continental GT, a car standing out because of the passenger compartment decorated with noble and precious materials and a very powerful engine, the most British of Swiss watch brands has produced a limited series of 500 pieces, the Bentley GT Dark Sapphire Edition. Like the luxurious GT coupé, the watch made by Breitling combines performance and prestige. The impressive 48mm case is made of Breitlight®. This ultra-light, ultra-sturdy, high-tech material is not only scratch-resistant and rust-resistant, but also provides excellent thermal stability and anti-magnetic qualities. The black, lightly marbled colour has a blued sheen recalling the colour of the Bentley “Dark Sapphire” bodywork.
Like all the timepieces made by the firm based in La Chaux-de-Fonds, the Bentley GT Dark Sapphire Edition is driven by a movement with official COSC chronometer certification. In the present case, this is an automatic calibre, the B06, giving the watch a power reserve of over 70 hours. It also stands out through its “30-second chronograph” system. In concrete terms, the central second hand turns around the dial in half a minute. This technical feature guarantees a precise reading on short time periods down to 1/8th of a second.
On the dial, a diamond pattern recalls details from the inside of the Bentley Continental GT. The same pattern adorns the comfortable rubber strap, specially created for this limited edition.
Available with a black or blue dial, the Superocean 44 Special by Breitling has all you need to explore the ocean depths with peace of mind.
To qualify as a diver’s watch, a timepiece must have some specific features. It has to be water-resistant down to 100m, include a power reserve indicator and be shock-resistant… While Breitling has strong links to aeronautics, the company also has the expertise to supply watches for underwater explorers by producing models with all the features divers need, such as the new Superocean 44 Special. It meets the challenges of the sea depths with water-resistance down to 1000 metres. On a 44mm-wide steel case with a satiny finish, the rotating bezel made of high-resistance ceramics will guarantee that even the most extreme missions are a success. The bezel is unidirectional, preventing any unwanted prolongation of diving time.
The Superocean 44 Special is powered by a self-winding calibre that has been certified as a chronometer by the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (COSC), a guarantee of precision. A range of straps are available, with Ocean Racer and Diver Pro rubber straps, or a metal Professional strap, designed to suit divers’ preferences.
