RICHARD MILLE Opens Monaco boutique on Place du Casino

Richard Mille is delighted to announce the opening of its first Monaco boutique. Monaco is indisputably one of the luxury capitals of the world, set by the sea against the backdrop of a majestic Mont Agel. Home to the most prestigious Grand Prix on the Formula 1 calendar, Monaco provides the ideal setting for the opening of the brands newest boutique.
Peter Harrison, CEO of Richard Mille Europe Middle East and Africa comments: “Given the well documented influence of Formula 1 in the design and production of Richard Mille watches, opening a boutique so close to the Monaco Grand Prix Circuit is in perfect synergy with the brand DNA. Aside from motor racing Monaco is a luxurious and world renowned destination in its own right, and we are delighted to extend our global presence by opening a boutique in such fine surroundings.”
The Richard Mille Boutique resides under the luxurious arches of the Place du Casino opposite the Café de Paris and a short walk from the Buddha Bar which overlooks the famous Loews hairpin. The boutique also shares its location with the legendary Casino de Monte-Carlo, one of the world’s first major casinos. The entrance to the boutique is located on the Allée François Blanc, a pedestrianised zone offering a welcoming and calm atmosphere to visitors that savour refinement and luxury. The interior of the boutique includes features of the new Richard Mille global design concept with cracked glass set against the silky softness of Sophie Mallebranche’s cream metal.
A combination of precision engineering and technical excellence has made Richard Mille one of the world leaders in Haute Horlogerie and the Monaco Boutique showcases a diverse collection of his timepieces including the RM 014 Tourbillon Black Ceramic, the Ladies RM 07-01 Polo Club Saint Tropez and other Limited Editions such as the RM 011 Felipe Massa Black Night.

RICHARD MILLE – Tourbillon RM-69 Erotique

Eroticism is the art of taking sexual desire to its climax by letting your imagination run wild. Unlike erotic watches from the late 17th century onwards whose steamy, pornographic and sometimes animated scenes frolicked on the dial, Richard Mille tickles physical passion with flair. Framed by a large titanium case (50×42.7×16.15mm), the black PVD-coated dial is divided in two: a tourbillon powered by a manual wind calibre at the bottom and a system creating a message on three rollers on top. The rollers are activated on demand using the pusher at 10 o’ clock to display a random sentence, desire or fantasy. For clearer timekeeping, the two metallic openwork hour and minute hands can be disrobed by pressing the pusher at 8 o’ clock to free up space for the message to glisten in all its erotic glory. RM 27-02 Rafael Nadal

The fifth generation of the “Rafael Nadal” timepieces is another step forwards in the quest for excellence after the RM 027, RM 035, RM 27-01 and RM 35-01 models. Firstly, this new manual-wind mechanical tourbillon calibre is based on a so-called “unibody” skeleton plate. The latter is moulded to the caseband thus making the structure extremely sturdy, a technique inspired by racing car chassis. In terms of material, the plate is in NTPT carbon, the bridges in grade 5 titanium whilst the back and bezel are in NTPT carbon blended with TPT quartz. The latter is made up of over 600 layers of quartz filaments. They have been interspersed with carbon layers by a system which modifies the fibres’ position by 45 degrees. The result is an incredibly light calibre (3.5g) and a super sturdy watch. Price: 734,500 CHF

RICHARD MILLE PRINCIPAL PARTNER OF LES VOILES DE SAINT BARTH 2015

The sixth edition the Caribbean’s finest sailing race, Les Voiles de Saint Barth 2015, will get underway on April 14, 2015 at 11 a.m.

Over 1,000 yachtsmen and women of 20 different nationalities—including some of the biggest names in sailing such as Loïc Peyron and Terry Hutchinson—will compete during a week of racing in an electric atmosphere! The regattas around the island of St. Barts are a dream opportunity to see the world’s most prestigious yachts battle it out on routes that are as beautiful as they are challenging.

A principal partner since the event was established, Richard Mille is delighted to be associated once again with this exceptional competition coordinated by its founders François Tolède, Organisation Director, and Luc Poupon, Race Director.
The watchmaking brand from the Swiss Jura will unveil a special series of RM 60-01 Regatta Flyback Chronographs bedecked in competition colors for the 2015 Voiles de Saint Barth. The principles and values of yachting are a perfect reflection of Richard Mille’s philosophy, which is based on a combination of extreme performance, cutting-edge technology, a clear artistic vision and respect for watchmaking tradition.
The timepiece is driven by the RM 60-01, an automatic flyback chronograph caliber in grade 5 titanium, which facilitates navigation thanks to its unique three-dimensional rotating bezel featuring a wind rose and a graduated 360° 24-hour disk.
Its operating principle relies on two key pieces of data: the local time and the position of the sun in the sky. By simply pointing one hand at the sun and at the local time on the bezel, the latter will indicate the compass points in both the northern and southern hemispheres without the need for any prior calculation. Specifically designed for competitive sailing, the RM 60-01 Voiles de Saint Barth features UTC functions and a countdown timer as well as a patented locking crown, all of which illustrate the extreme level of development attained by Richard Mille in this timepiece intended for skippers.

The RM 60-01 Voiles de Saint Barth will be produced in a limited edition of just 100 timepieces, available exclusively in North and South America. The first watch will be unveiled during the competition.

RICHARD MILLE – RM 19-02 Tourbillon Fleur

Magnolias herald spring’s arrival with their plump fleshy petals and now they’re planting their roots into the leafy green dial of this timekeeping marvel. Its hand-painted pink and white petals at 7 o’ clock unfurl every 5 minutes (or by pressing the pusher at 9 o’ clock on the case side). The flower unveils a flying tourbillon studded with sparkling stamens before its 5 petals close to become a pink bud. The dazzling diamond time display between 12 and 3 o’ clock on a black background bears diamond markers as two white-tipped silver hands track the hours and minutes. The flying tourbillon, 36-hour power reserve and time functions are brought to life by a manual wind mechanical movement housed in Richard Mille’s signature three-parth barrel-shaped case. Price: 824,500 CHF (exc. VAT)

RICHARD MILLE – RM 60-01 Regatta Flyback Chronograph

The first ever regatta watch for Richard Mille; the first rush of adrenalin for sailors! In addition to its hour, minute and small second at 3 o’ clock, large date display at 12 o’ clock, month indicator at 4.30 and flyback chronograph (with central second hand, counter and timer at 9 o’ clock and hour counter at 6 o’ clock), this RM 60-01 also enables wearers to get their bearings whilst at sea. All you need to do is point the central red CUT (Coordinated Universal Time) arrow towards the sun. Using the rotating bezel, CUT lines up to local time on one of the two 24 hour scales in the northern or southern hemisphere. The four compass points are then aligned with the bezel’s engravings. The graduated 360° scale enables wearers to reach any destination. The watchmaker has also fine-tuned a patented safety lock system for the pushers using the crown. A real mechanical gem costing 146,000 CHF.
